Area Code Info for the US
Using Area Codes has traditionally been the 'easiest' method of locating customers and defining coverage areas. AreaCodeInfo is a map database of Area Code boundaries for the Continental United States, Alaska, and Hawaii. As the demand for phone numbers grows at a rapid rate, new Area Codes are constantly being created. MapInfo updates this database monthly, to ensure the most accurate, up-to-date Area Code information available.

Key Variables: Area Code / NPA Number

Geographic Coverage: Continental United States, Alaska, and Hawaii

Scale/Coordinates: 1:24,000 / Latitude & Longitude, NAD83

Technical Specifications: In order to use AreaCodeInfo, you must have MapInfo Professional (version 4.5 or higher) installed on your system. Call for information on other supported data formats. Single-User and Multi User Licensing available

Data Updates: Available monthly, bimonthly, quarterly or semi-annually on a subscription basis, with 1, 2, or 3-year service contracts. Call for pricing and contract terms.

CLECInfo for the US
A Competitive Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC) is a long-distance or independent telecom service provider who, due to deregulation, now competes in offering local telephone service. CLECInfo is a map database that geographically shows their coverage areas, as well as their switch locations.

Typical Applications: Market Analysis, Network Planning and Billing.

Key Variables: State, Wire Center Code, Operating Company Number, Company Name, Area Code & Exchange (NPA/NXX), Rate Center Name, Locality and LATA

Geographic Coverage: Continental United States, Alaska, and Hawaii

Scale/Coordinates: 1:24,000 / Latitude & Longitude, NAD83

LATAInfo for the US
LATAInfo is a map database of Local Access Transport Areas (LATAs) across the United States. LATAs are geographic regions unique to the telecommunications industry. Telephone calls between two parties in different LATAs must, by law, be 'transported' by a long-distance carrier. In general, each LATA contains a single major metropolitan area. In addition to the geographic boundaries of the LATAs, the database contains information about Wire Centers, Area Codes, and the major local operating companies in each LATA.

Key Variables: LATA number, LATA name, Area Codes in the LATA, Major local operating companies serving the LATA

Geographic Coverage: Continental United States, Alaska, and Hawaii

Scale/Coordinates: 1:24,000 / Latitude & Longitude, NAD83

Technical Specifications: In order to use LATAInfo, you must have MapInfo Professional (version 4.5 or higher) installed on your system. Call for information on other supported data formats. Single-User and Multi User Licensing available.

Data Updates: Available monthly, bimonthly, quarterly or semi-annually on a subscription basis, with 1, 2, or 3-year service contracts. Call for pricing and contract terms.

Rate Center Info
Rate Center Info combines precise geographic Rate Center boundaries and points with the industry's most comprehensive listing of Area Code(NPA) and Exchange (NXX) combinations and company assignments. RateCenterInfo allows robust market analysis of carriers and the Rate Centers where they operate. Or, drill down and analyze the competition within a particular Rate Center. The database combines precise geographic information about Rate Center boundaries with specific information about all the NPA/NXXs operating with the Rate Center. With the increasing pace of Rate Center consolidation and Area Code additions, keeping up to speed is essential. MapInfo's rigorous methodology, extensive research, customer feedback mechanism, and monthly update process ensures that RateCenterInfo is the most current, accurate database of its kind.

Geographic Coverage: 50 States; D.C.; Puerto Rico Scale/Coordinates 1:24,000 / Latitude & Longitude, NAD83 Database Variables

Key Variables:

  • Point Table: State, Rate Center name, Alternative Rate Center name, V/H coordinates and X/Y coordinates
  • Geography Table: Rate Center name, Rate Center ID, Alternate Rate Center name and State

POPInfo
POPInfo is a map database of 'Point Of Presence' (POP) locations for long distance telephone carriers across the United States. These points illustrate the entry and exit locations for telephone calls provided by major long distance carriers. It is used in conjunction with other telecommunication databases (i.e. MapInfo's LATAInfo, LECInfo and others), to illustrate the long distance telecommunications landscape. An Interexchange Carrier (IXC) is a telephone company that provides long distance service between LATAs. The POPInfo database includes IXCInfo, so you can map the communications channel, or path, between two or more telephone exchanges to determine rates for local and long distance calls that cross more than one telecom provider service area.

Key Variables: POPInfo LATA, Area Code, Prefix, Wire Center code, carrier, Rate Center, V & H coordinates for the Rate center, V & H coordinates for the Wire Center IXCInfo LATA, Carrier, State, Service type, Original and Destination CLLI, Cost

Geographic Coverage: Continental United States, Alaska, and Hawaii Scale/Coordinates 1:24,000 / Latitude & Longitude, NAD83.

Technical Specifications: In order to use POPInfo and IXCInfo, you must have MapInfo Professional (version 4.5 or higher) installed on your system. Call for information on other supported data formats. Single-User and Multi User Licensing available.

ExchangeInfo Plus
ExchangeInfo PLUS is a comprehensive telecommunications infrastructure database that contains geographic and industry data on Wire Center boundaries, and Central Office and wireless switch locations. Wire Centers are the basic unit of geography for the telecommunications industry in the United States. They describe the organization of the local telephone exchange system. Each Wire Center serves a unique set of telephone numbers within a fixed geographic area. ExchangeInfo PLUS is built using over 50 million addresses, telephone tariff data, and MapInfo's proprietary technology and processes. It includes every Wire Center in the United States (over 22,000), graphically displaying their service areas. MapInfo's core telecom infrastructure database, ExchangeInfo PLUS is updated on a monthly basis, to make sure it contains the most accurate, timely telecom infrastrcuture data available.

Features / Benefits:

  • Street-Level Accuracy: MapInfo acquires raw data at the federal, state, and local level, as well as from proprietary sources.
